Health and Safety Ireland, can
help your Construction Company prepare for SafeTCert readiness prior
to audit from the IOSH panel, by developing Management Systems that
address the needs of your site/s and the Audit for
SafeTCert.
What is SafeTcert?
Safe-T-Cert is a
third part accredited Health and Safety Management System for the
Construction Industry, and it was developed jointly by the
Construction Employers Federation in Belfast and the Construction
Industry Federation in Dublin. Safe-T-Cert was developed from the
practises of the Dutch petrochemical industry but enhanced
specifically for the construction industry. It is also based on the
'best practice' requirements of relevant national and international
bodies, including the ILO guidelines. Safe-T-Cert is a recognised
system under the 'Buildsafe' initiative in Northern Ireland and the
'Construction Safety Partnership' in the Republic of
Ireland.
What are the benefits of
Safe-T-Cert?
Companies can use Safe-T-Cert certification
to demonstrate to clients that they have effective health and safety
management systems and procedures and Safe-T-Cert certification
provides contractors with third party support for pre-qualification
and selection. Certified contractors will be listed on a Safe-T-Cert
register that is available to public and private sector clients.
Insurance companies may look favourably on contractors who have
taken a pro-active approach to risk management as demonstrated
through the achievement of Safe-T-Cert
certification.
Certification
Only companies
that have gone through a detailed certification process and have met
the minimum criteria will receive certification.
Independent Audit
Audits are carried our by
Scheme approved Auditors. They are appointed from a Panel of
Auditors provided by the Institution of Occupational Safety and
Health (IOSH) The audit itself entails a detailed examination of the
company's health and safety documentation and procedures together
with interviews and site inspections.
If you are in a trade,
